Oh, the pain..the misery…the teeth gnashing and, oh yeah, the cursing! Your drive just alarmed out, your equipment has stopped, production has ceased, and you are wasting time and money. Can the drive be saved? The good news is…probably!

Before it comes to that scenario, consider this: We all know HEAT is the root of all evil when it comes to electronic equipment. Add some MOISTURE and DIRT and you have the electronic axis of evil and disaster!

So, practice prevention first by:

- keeping your electrical cabinets CLOSED

- keeping your FANS in good REPAIR

- making sure those cabinet FILTERS are always CLEAN

Eventually, most drives will experience overcurrent alarms or deviation/function alarms. Avoid swapping top boards to troubleshoot - yes, we know, many of you do this and it usually works out ok. However, it’s a risky move. Bad boards can blow the power modules which then blow the top boards and you end up with more than one machine down! And you thought you were frustrated BEFORE!

If you want, you can check for the correct base drive voltages on the top board without DC bus voltage. This can help identify the location of the problem. Call your OEM and find out how to check the power modules with an ohmmeter.

In todays General Insurance Investor Update, Suncorp-Metway outlined plans to simplify the structure of its general insurance arm in order to improve its margins.

SUN is targeting both margin improvement and $235 million in annual cost savings by June 2013.

SUN intends to move to a single view on pricing and claims, effectively lowering costs and helping it leverage its scale across its insurance brands.

Project costs of $120 million will be absorbed into SUNs existing cost base as the group slashes discretionary spending.

SUNs intention is to boost market share in the small-to-medium enterprises segment.Australian share price for SUN eked up one cent on Friday and last closed at $8.00 a share.

I’m looking for very specific zones on the chart.
Of course we’ve got the little dipper model, which tells us to look at, really, three different prices: 38%, 50%, and 61%.
The last one, which is 78%, is really more of a make or break line, and if the market continues to push down which it did in this case what we’re saying is well, yeah, the trend isn’t all that strong, and we need to keep an eye out for a possible follow through to the downsideForex trading .Mac XSo when the pound was pushing down towards the 78% level, frankly I was wondering if it was going to break through the low.
But at the same time I’m not going to assume that price is going to break down.
I’m going to wait for some other kind of confirmation or some other kind of patternForex trading .
